Pre Contract Audits

Audits to ensure that a potential coverholder meets the necessary standards and retains the required controls to be granted Lloyd’s approval and a delegated authority.

Coverholder Audits

Audits of existing coverholders with audit scopes carefully designed in conjunction with clients to ensure:

  • Statutory and regulatory requirements are being met and necessary licences retained
  • Business underwritten by the coverholder falls within the terms of the authorities granted
  • Financial checks and controls are in place
  • Premiums are being transacted appropriately
  • Where appropriate, claims are being handled as required and there is suitable delineation of responsibilities

Third Party Administrator Audits

These specialist audits are designed to ensure that:

  • Statutory and regulatory requirements are being met and necessary licences retained
  • Lloyd’s minimum standards are being met
  • Claims are administered in accordance with the authorities granted
  • Service standards are maintained at all times, including following a catastrophe event
  • Loss adjusters and third party experts are being appropriately managed
  • Claims funds granted are retained and managed appropriately

Conduct Risk Reviews

These are tailored to individual needs, but normally include a detailed review of the following:

  • TCF control procedures, processes and management information
  • Complaints handling
  • Financial related policies and procedures
  • Conflict of interest
  • Customer facing materials
  • Training and development
  • Reward and incentive schemes 

Managing General Agent Audits

These specialist audits are normally based upon the coverholder audit scope, but with additional specific emphasis upon underwriting quality and account management standards.

GPA Consulting retains extensive experience in both underwriting and claims disciplines and can, therefore, provide its clients with detailed in-depth analyses of the technical standards and abilities of coverholders, managing general agents and third party administrators. All such audits are bespoke and directly tailored to the client’s requirements.
